On this page I will display photographs of the various palaces I have encountered here in Iraq. 
 
Had he chosen to, Saddam Hussein could have built a thriving economy like those in Jordan, Dubai, Egypt or other countries in the Middle East.  Instead he chose to keep everything for himself.

All of the water seen in these photos are man made lakes.  The dirt was taken away to another part of Iraq where more palaces were built.

Just an interesting note; there were chefs employed at every one of Saddam's palaces.  They were required to prepare a full course meal, three times a day, every single day of the week.  They never knew when or if Saddam was going to show up that particular day.  If he did not show up then they were required to dispose of the food. 
 
This was done while his people were starving.
