I Stand Before You by ©2001 Roger J. Robicheau (Sp 5,

|
I stand before you all today
But not one eye can see my way
My time arrived,
to leave this earth
A fact so planned, to every birth
It happened where I had to go
My torch
for life was so aglow
I transferred while in uniform
Protecting freedom, through a storm
Should
I resent I died for you
Not on my life, red white and blue
Please help my family through each day
Tell
all my friends, try not to stray
And of the country I did love
Do think of me, through God above
Your
memories, brought forth this day
Send love to us, who could not stay |
Our Gift to the Fallen A Short Poem by Charlie Gragg Penryn, California
For each
soldier that has fallen so that many may stand We honor their spirit as they pass to God's hand For without their sacrifice
we would live forever in fear We pray for their loved ones and provide a salute and a tear God help us heal the wounds
of hate and the misery of war That is our gift to our fallen heroes that are amongst us no more.
If I die before
you wake...
Back
home now I know you're probably sleepin' Over here it's the middle of the day I finally found the time to write a
letter Sittin' here a half a world away
I heard about all them folks protestin' As if I really
want this war But that don't stop me from believin' There's just some things worth fightin' for
CHORUS
And if I die before you wake, I pray the world will take A good look at what God's given us That we could
only understand, everything is in his hands All we need is a little faith and trust I want you to know it ain't
too high a price to pay If I die before you wake
Tell
everybody that I miss them And I can't wait to get back home But until then I'll serve my country And be proud
to wear this uniform
CHORUS No
it ain't too high a price to pay If I die before you wake
